Delhi: At the programme “A Culture Under Siege: Ukrainian Writings in a Time of War,” Ukrainian poet Yuliya Musakovska says, “My country has been attacked by Russia in this unjust and brutal war. Civilians are now living in survival mode amid regular airstrikes and the destruction of civilian infrastructure..."
Russia is turning winter into a weapon, bombing Ukrainian cities into darkness and cold.
In freezing temperatures and deep snow, civilians are left without power and heat. It’s a deliberate Russia's strategy, aimed at making Ukrainians to capitulate.
Ukraine doesn’t need sympathy — it needs protection.
We need Sky Shield to stop the missiles and drones before they reach our cities, to keep the lights on, the heat running, and people safe.
Europe, no time to hesitate!

Last year, my book, The God of Freedom, was on the list. This year, a book I translated — powerful poetry from the frontline by Artur Dron’, published by @JantarBooks. I appreciate the recognition and happy for Artur and his work.
How lovely to meet you again, dear @SofiOksanen — by pure chance, during my couple of hours at @Kulturmoedet ! Thank you for your fierce support of Ukraine 🫶
With amazing Ukrainian poet @Musakovska in Denmark at the @Kulturmoedet -festival. Read her work👌Me being a novelist I always wonder, how poets can create a whole world in a single poem. She does have that talent. #Ukraine#BookRecommendations
If you want to achieve peace by underlining the “greatness” of Russia (red carpets etc) you will always fail. Because “greatness” is the only reason why Russia is making wars. For Russia, being “great” means being violent. Strength (sila) for Russia means violence (nasiliye).
If you want to stop Russia from making wars, you should prove to it that it is no longer great. It happened many times in history. Ukrainians prove it in this war
Russia is not great. That’s the first assumption for peace
So 🇷🇺kills grandson Davyd Chichkan (1986-2025) and stole the artworks of Leonid Chichkan, a grandfather, from Kherson Art Museum. “Where are your great artists? Where is your heritage? Why we don’t know Ukrainian art?”, they ask.
Last year, I traveled to South Africa at the invitation of @UA_Institute to perform at @PoetryAfrica. From Durban to dialogue—here’s one of the sprouts that grew from that journey. Thanks to @QuazRoodt — and to @ukraine_world & @internews_ua for support: https://t.co/Uj5yPVOpQs

On this day, we remember one of the darkest chapters in Estonian 🇪🇪 history.
In March 1949, the Soviet regime forcibly deported over 20,000 Estonians—mostly women, children, & the elderly - to Siberia.
Their crime? Simply existing as Estonians.🧵
With thanks to @karthikgemini from @mathrubhumi for this opportunity to speak about Ukraine’s wartime reality to the audience in India. Also, about participating in @mbifl2025 with my book The God of Freedom published by @arrowsmithpress and more projects with Audiostories.
