Drying is one of the oldest and the simplest method of preserving food. It refers to removal of water from the
food. Dried foods r preserved because the available moisture level is so low that the microorganisms cannot
grow and the enzyme activity is also controlled.

Used Cooking Oil (UCO) is not only a serious health hazard but also a potential threat to the environment when disposed of directly into the water. Dumping UCO leads to raising the Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD) of water bodies ultimately choking aquatic lives to the death.

The price of sawdust bundle in Mogadishu markets has reached 13 Somali shillings (meaning each sawdust costs one thousand Somali shillings).
This is a new phenomenon in the capital's fodder markets.
