Anna Keener was born in Flager, Colorado. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts, 1916, and a Master of Arts, 1918, from Bethany College, Lindsborg, Kansas.

While at Bethany she was an assistant to Birger Sandzen. Keener taught at Sul Ross from 1925-1926, then moved to New Mexico to teach. Retiring from Eastern New Mexico State University in 1954, Keener moved to Santa Fe where she helped organize the New Mexico Arts Commission.

Also, I love the yearly Trappings of Texas shows and recently really enjoyed the photography of Graciela Iturbide. Cathy can be found working at the museum on Thursdays, where she shares volunteering duties with her husband, Dave Leet.

---What is or was your favorite exhibit or part of the museum? CW: It's so hard to decide since there are so many great exhibits, but the Tom Lea retrospective and the Charlie Russell show stand out in my memory.

---What do you enjoy most about working at the welcome center? CW: I enjoy talking with the visitors, telling them about the museum and giving tips on what to see and do in the Big Bend region.

This portfolio is one of the last major series the artist completed before his death in 1987. Andy Warhol: Cowboys and Indians was organized by the Briscoe Western Art Museum, San Antonio, Texas.
