NEXT WEEK / This workshop is a celebration of Baybayin, the pre-colonial ancient script of the Philippines. Join artist Dionne Pajarillaga to learn to paint some words and phrases in Tagalog. Your paintings will be scanned in and used to make pieces for our exhibition

Baybayin is a writing system native to the Philippines. Spanish colonisers couldn’t fully understand how to read it so tried to destroy it, but this beautiful script persisted. We will learn about and celebrate Baybayin, using ink and brushes to paint some phrases related to joy.
