@restoreorderusa Yes- I’m left in my political leanings, but I want us to be able to talk and help find common sense in all of this. I hope you do too.
Love these! Gumball machine with a writing prompt or positive affirmation. Magical sense of wonder at✨ @chptr510 storefront in Oakland, CA which supports creative writing for local teens.
Be a part of a really special program and make frolleagues who will support you as you make much-needed changes in our field. Q & A with me Dec 11 to learn more. @AASLH

@MichelleNMoon AASLH Twitter was seriously dead. Like nuthin. I’m like welp I guess I’ll hand out paper flyers to get people to my session. And no idea what others were talking about.
But also good not to worry about it and just be present.
Hey #aaslh2023.
If you think you may be inter in applying for History Leadership Institute (HLI formerly SHA) for 2024 and want to know more - come talk to me OR of you’re still here on Saturday come to my session!
As of today, I am stepping down as co-chair of #MCN2023
I hope to use this opportunity to start a discussion about what museum workers really need from their networks and conferences (a thread)
@MichelleNMoon @Epiplectic Even if the exhibit text is done well, it’s so imperative that the educators get it right. Visitors remember an interaction with a person far better than written words.
I wonder if these docents were trained by following other docents (a terrible problem). Game of telephone 📞
@ChristySColeman While some museums are trying to figure out how to avoid hosting groups like the Moms for Liberty, there are probably others who are emboldened by recent SCOTUS decision & strategizing ways to keep LGBTQ folks out of their insititutions. What a week

This year's AASLH History Leadership Institute Seminar began last week under new director @MuseumJones. The cohort is diving into a range of national issues facing the field. See the speakers and the topics the cohort is exploring on the AASLH Blog.

@MichelleNMoon @MusEdRoundtable@NoelleTrentPhD @DinaABailey Let's definitely continue the conversation! So sorry to have missed this - especially with the lovely lemon graphic!
4. Open your offices as an extension of the gallery- add “Please Touch” signs to everyone’s desk
5. Make a map of your museum marked with all the best places to secretly make-out. Partner with Trojan to promote.
You’re welcome-just ask that I be credited in the grant narrative
5 Absolutely free ideas to help your museum stand out :
1. Make a cereal in the shape of little collections items- with marshmallow “Do not touch signs”
2. Create a computer virus that forcibly mentions your museum in unstoppable pop-ups every few seconds
3. Have your interpretative staff take over a Walmart wearing Blue vests. When people come - convince them that it’s 2060 and this is a historic house museum of Walmart. Show them house to use the self-check out
