Emir Sanusi has been one of Nigeria's most vocal advocates for education, particularly girl child education. He has never endorsed Boko Haram, just as the vast majority of Northerners reject the group's ideology.

Painting him, or Northern elites generally, as Boko Haram sympathizers is lazy, unfair, and dangerous profiling.
