It’s music that keeps many young people in school to the end. Being able to sing and play an instrument is such an invaluable tool. It helps them to express themselves, connect with others, and deal with the many challenges of school. Having this helps them to achieve their best.
Some of our 5th & 6th gr. Braves Band musicians rehearsing for the GVSMA All-County Fest #1 on 1/27-28 at Perry CSD! They started rehearsing all on their own. So proud! "Midnight Mission" by Brian Balmages @avon_central@BrianBalmages
You start to learn an instrument, then you join a music ensemble, then you make lifelong friends, then you make lifelong memories, then you take your instrument wherever you go and replicate the process. A musical instrument is a key that opens the door to so many amazing things.
We are super appreciative of our awesome MS principal Mrs. Miller for narrating the part of Leon The Elf as we performed Timothy Loest's Diary of a Grumpy Elf! Check out her costume and ears! @CM_Ecklund@avon_central@R_Wagner07
Our Avon Braves Bands performed beautifully at our concert last night!! There is nothing like liver music to get you into the holiday spirit. We are so proud of you! @CM_Ecklund@avon_central@R_Wagner07
Music took me from shy to confident. It took me from aimless to purposeful. It took me from alone to included. It took me from deflated to elated. As a music teacher, that’s why I get out of bed every morning - to help young people discover the amazing they have lying within.
Music Education is important because music is important. It’s important to us as humans. It’s important to us as a society. It’s important to our communities. It’s important to our families. It’s important to us as individuals. Music should be taught because music is important.
