Here's my chronicle of how I built a battlebox of decks for Mirage/Tempest Type 2. Enjoy my exploration of some of the best Magic you can play.

These decks are a blast. I encourage you to find inspiration for what makes Magic fun to you. Unsleeve your cards. Play more than 60. Build suboptimally. You can just do things.
I've been very underwhelmed with tuned and highly competitive decks in the Premodern/Middle School card pool. Here are three decks that I have been having a blast with lately: White weenie, Elves, and GR Survival. They may look like the same archetypes, but they aren't...
Finally, GR Survival. Specifically, Sneak Attack Natural Order all the coolest green fatties. If you want to play a premodern legal deck, take out the Norwood Priestess and only play 62 cards. Thorn Elemental, Silvos, Rith, and Weatherseed were all I wanted to cast as a kid.
Went undefeated at A&C's 🇨🇦Premodern Monthly meetup with Survival Opposition! Deck was a ton of fun to play and I was able to channel my Legacy Cradle Control energy 🤣
Toronto, Canada Premodern scene is popping off!

Thank you for donating! I haven't been to a Magic: The Gathering tournament, but I looked up photos online and the dress culture seems pretty casual. When you say "all day," I assume that means you'll be sitting for hours, concentrating on a game.
Thus, I would try to wear knits, rather than wovens, since they're stretchier and more comfortable. If money isn't an issue, I would check out Okochi Meriyasu or Inis Meain at No Man Walks Alone (pic 1). These are soft, comfy knits that can be worn against bare skin. For something more affordable, I would check out Bosie's Blue Mogganer sweaters, which are made from a softer Shetland wool. Sometimes Shetland can be a bit itchy, but I find these to be OK on bare skin (pic 2). If not, you can always wear them over a long-sleeve t-shirt. Alternatively, you can just wear a sweatshirt or hoodie. I like the ones from Brut Paris, which is now available in the US through their NYC store.
I would personally want to wear pants that are very comfortable, which means not something super constricting. Bryceland's P13 are big, baggy cargo pants with spacious pockets for snacks (prob useful for an all-day event). De Bonne Facture makes really nice trousers with an elasticated waist, so they feel like sweatpants. Or I would just wear a fuller cut pair of jeans, such as Buck Mason's Full Saddle jeans in raw denim.
Finally, for shoes, I would wear something with laces, as they can be adjusted if your feet swell (which can happen after a long day of sitting). I've personally been into Roccia Vet Sport boots lately, but your favorite pair of classic sneakers will likely work fine with everything mentioned above.
@HacksMtg I'm really happy with it. It's the final form of the deck I've worked on for a few years.
Started out with 5C ATS. For this, only once did I want Anger/Mountain for haste. But I don't really think it would have been good any other time.
Play 62 cards. Nothing bad can happen. It can only good happen. 2nd overall in a local 16 person Premodern thing.
