Students in Mrs Sloan’s 2nd grade class learned about Italian music and dancing traditions in celebration of the MIRM theme, “Passport to Learning.” Here is a video clip of the class learning how to do the dance the tarantella. @StadiumDriveLO

Second Grade students created their own ostinato pattern to accompany the song “Hot Chocolate.” We then performed the song with the ostinato. @Carpenter_LO
Students in 3rd and 4th grades just wrapped up their verse and refrain songwriting unit. Students learned about the framework of a song and then were given the task to write their own rap song in AB form. @Carpenter_LO
First grade students just wrapped up a unit on meter. We learned about different meters in music and used movement as a way to identify them. Here is Mrs. Charles class performing the song “I Have a Dog With a Tail.” @Carpenter_LO

Second grade listened to the story “A Song of Frutas” and made their own fruit song creations using the frutas in the story. They then got to shake their newly created rhythm with the Frutas egg shakers!
