Q. What exclusive claim do Frank Sinatra, ABBA, The Bee Gees, Elton John, Rod Stewart, Donna Summer and Shakira have?

A. They are amongst a handful of musicians to have played the UN.

And today @MusicManProject has joined their number, helping to launching the Alliance for Accessible Music. 🇬🇧 @UKUN_NewYork @FCDOGovUK @cabinetofficeuk @DisabilityGovUK

A long-held dream of performing on Broadway became reality on Wednesday night.

@MusicManProject's Global Ambassadors - including my son - wowed the audience, led by the force of nature that is @DavidStanleyMus.

Funny, touching, and joyful. Proof indeed that 'Music is Magic'.

Thank you to our incredible President, Dame Penny. Let's "Fill the Hall for All" in New York, and build on an incredible legacy of inclusion and opportunity in arts and culture. @gofundme @teamlewisglobal #broadway

[Penny Mordaunt @PennyMordaunt]

Seven years ago my good friend and colleague Sir David Amess revealed at the @RoyalAlbertHall a dream: that the @MusicManProject play their own show on Broadway. Here is the video I took of his speech. Two years later he was murdered. He left an incredible legacy, including that dream.

The Music Man Project is a multi-award-winning, world record-breaking music education charity for people with learning disabilities.

After a mountain of hard work, guts, determination, fundraising and optimism against all the odds, we are dong exactly that, on 7th October at The Town Hall in New York. All this has been achieved without public funding. Just the love and generously of the British public and some fantastic businesses, including the @teamlewisglobal Foundation.

We are all set, except for one thing- we need an audience.

We want these remarkable musicians to play to a packed house and want to give seats to disabled organisations and schools across NYC.

Will you help us #FillTheHallForAll so this fantastic UK charity has a full house?

We aim to raise £10,000 to fund 500 tickets for guests from schools, organisations and community groups across New York. Every £20 donated puts one person in the audience to share this historic night with the musicians.

We are so close to making this dream a reality, please be part of it and help us pack the place out.

To sponsor a seat please visit: https://t.co/oImj94tbaf

Thank you!

Thank you Dame Penny xx

The @MusicManProject have had their minibus vandalised. This is what they had to say about it:

"We have a message for the vandals. Nothing will stop MMP. They can vandalise a hundred minibuses. Music Man has overcome all manner of problems, pain and prejudice. We sing and play instruments but what we do most of all is inspire people. This just inspires us and all our supporters."

Do please send this incredible organisation, their students and volunteers some love today.

@NYCMayor

Hey! The UK'S @MusicManProject - who promote inclusion for the learning disabled through the power of music - are performing on Broadway in October. Any chance you can raise their profile, Mr Mayor?

Yours in hope! xx

'From Southend-on-Sea to Broadway: What GoFundMe Taught Me About Fundraising' **New Music Man Blog**
Eighteen months ago, @DavidStanley launched a GoFundMe campaign with an ambitious goal: to raise £150,000 to take musicians with learning disabilities to Broadway in honour of his friend and our President, the late Sir David Amess.
Last week, he reached that target thanks to a massive MMP team effort.
In his blog, David explains the lessons he learned along the way, in the hope that it might inspire and help others to try their own fundraising campaign too.
"Fundraising is not about asking people to give money. It is about giving people something to believe in."

Thank you so much Katie! We're honoured to make our Broadway debut in memory of your Father, our greatest champion.

[Katie Amess @KatieAmess]

With great pride and a tear in my eye I am happy to say that @MusicManProject is fulfilling my dad's dream of appearing on Broadway this October!

For those that don't know, The Music Man Project is a charity that provides international inclusive music education for people with learning disabilities.

My dad was a patron of this charity and helped them perform at the @RoyalAlbertHall He proclaimed his dream was to get them to Broadway and that is what they are going to be doing in October!

They sang at my dad's funeral, his concert and the unveiling of his statue. I know he is beaming down with pride on them all now and I can't thank them enough for making his dream come true!

Tickets are on sale now here for my American friends: https://t.co/1spv1I6zoz
