No Killing Seabirds: Pirates believed that killing seabirds, such as seagulls or pelicans, was a bad omen. It was thought that these birds carried the souls of lost sailors, and harming them would anger the spirits and bring misfortune.
Did ye know that the infamous pirate Bartholomew Roberts, also known as Black Bart, captured over 400 vessels during his career? A record that still stands to this day, makin' him one of the most successful pirates in history!
