Armand-Louis Couperin (1727 – 1789) was a French composer, organist, and harpsichordist of the Classical period. He was a member of the Couperin family of musicians, of which the most notable were his great-uncle Louis and his cousin François.

Haydn's Piano Trio No. 39 in G major was written in 1795, during the final few weeks of Haydn's second trip to London. It is perhaps his best-known piano trio and sometimes nicknamed the "Gypsy" or trio because of its Rondo finale in 'Hungarian' style.
