A 79-year-old man from Kitale has moved to the High Court of Kenya, arguing that Kenyan laws unfairly ban polygamy for Christians while allowing it under Islamic and customary laws.

Kenya's Phoebe Okowa elected by the UN General Assembly and UN Security Council as the judge of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) after four rounds of voting.

Okowa will now serve as one of the ICJ's 15 judges until 5 February 2027.
