This real photograph postcard shows McGraft Congregational Church on the northwest corner of Montgomery Avenue and McGraft Street, Muskegon, Michigan. The photo was taken during the 1930s. The church still stands today; it is the Harbor Unitarian Universalist Congregation.

On August 29, 1925, drilling began in Michigan’s first oil field. The oil field, an area known as Deindorfer Woods, was discovered a week prior.
