مَنْهُومَانِ لا يَشْبَعَانِ طَالِبُهُمَا طَالِبُ عِلْمٍ وَطَالِبُ الدُّنْيَا

“The seekers of two concerns are never satisfied: the seeker of knowledge and the seeker of the world.”

قال ابن تيمية رحمه الله قيل إنَّ اللَّهَ يُقِيمُ الدَّوْلَةَ الْعَادِلَةَ وَإِنْ كَانَتْ كَافِرَةً وَلَا يُقِيمُ الظَّالِمَةَ وَإِنْ كَانَتْ مُسْلِمَةً ويقال الدُّنْيَا تَدُومُ مَعَ الْعَدْلِ وَالْكُفْرِ وَلَا تَدُومُ مَعَ الظُّلْمِ وَالْإِسْلَامِ

“It is said that Allāh allows the just state to remain even if it is led by unbelievers, but Allāh will not allow the oppressive state to remain even if it is led by Muslims."

•The heaviest on the Scale:

الدِّينُ كُلُّهُ خُلُقٌ فَمَنْ زَادَ عَلَيْكَ فِي الْخُلُقِ زَادَ عَلَيْكَ فِي الدِّينِ

"The religion itself is entirely good character, so whoever surpasses you in character has surpassed you in religion."

{Madārij al-Sālikīn 2/294}

عن عبد الله بن زيد أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ "إِنَّ أَخْوَفَ مَا أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ بَعْدِي الرِّيَاءُ وَالشَّهْوَةُ الْخَفِيَّةُ" يَعْنِي الزِّنَا

“Indeed what I fear most for you after me is Riyā (showing-off) and hidden lusts (I.e. Zinā)”

وَمَن يَتَّقِ ٱللَّهَ يَجْعَل لَّهُۥ مَخْرَجًا

وَيَرْزُقْهُ مِنْ حَيْثُ ��َا يَحْتَسِبُ

"And whoever fears Allāh, He will make for him a way out."

"And will provide for him from where he does not expect."

الرَّاحِمُونَ يَرْحَمُهُمْ ال��َّحْمَنُ ارْحَمُوا مَنْ فِي الْأَرْضِ يَرْحَمْكُمْ مَنْ فِي السَّمَاءِ

"The merciful will be shown mercy by the Most Merciful. Be merciful to those on the earth and the One in the heavens will have mercy upon you."

يَوْمَ يَقُومُ ٱلرُّوحُ وَٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ صَفًّاۖ لَّا يَتَكَلَّمُونَ إِلَّا مَنْ أَذِنَ لَهُ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ وَقَالَ صَوَابًا

"The Day that the Spirit & the angels will stand in rows, they will not speak except for one whom the Most Merciful permits & he will say what is correct"

وَلَوْ نَشَآءُ لَجَعَلْنَا مِنكُم مَّلَٰٓئِكَةً فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ يَخْلُفُونَ

"And if We willed, We could have made [instead] of you angels succeeding [one another] on the earth."

"Here Allāh tells us about the great blessings which He bestowed upon two of His servants & Prophets, Dawūd & his son Suleimān & how they enjoyed happiness in this world and the Hereafter, power & authority in this world, and the position of being Prophets."

وَلَقَدْ ءَاتَيْنَا دَاوُۥدَ وَسُلَيْمَٰنَ عِلْمًاۖ وَقَالَا ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِى فَضَّلَنَا عَلَىٰ كَثِيرٍ مِّنْ عِبَادِهِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

"And We gave knowledge to David & Solomon, they said: Praise be to Allāh, Who has favoured us above many of His believing slaves"

اقْرَءُوا الْقُرْ��نَ فَإِنَّهُ يَأْتِي يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ شَفِيعًا لِأَصْحَابِهِ

"Recite the Quran, for on the Day of Resurrection it will come as an intercessor for its reciters."

Abdullāh Ibn Mas’ūd, may Allāh be pleased with him, said “The Jamā'ah (united community) is that which adheres to the truth, even if you are alone.”

عن ابن القيم قال عبد الله بن مسعود رضي الله عنه الْجَمَاعَةُ مَا وَافَقَ الْحَقَ�� وَإِنْ كُنْت وَحْدَك

"All the sins of a Shahīd (martyr) are forgiven except debt."

يَب��عَثُ اللَّهُ الْعِبَادَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ثُمَّ يُمَيِّزُ الْعُلَمَاءَ فَيَقُولُ يَا مَعْشَرَ الْعُلَمَاءِ إِنِّي لَمْ أَضَعْ فِيكُمْ عِلْمِي وَأَنَا أُرِيدُ أَنْ أُعَذِّبَكُمْ اذْهَبُوا فَقَدْ غَفَرْتُ لَكُمْ

“Allah will raise His servants on the Day of Resurrection, then He will distinguish the scholars, saying: O company of scholars, I would never waste My knowledge among you that I might punish you, so go now for I have forgiven you.”

عن عبد اللَّه بن رافع قال قلت لأبي هريرة رضي الله عنه لم كنيت أبا هريرة قَالَ كُنْتُ أَرْعَى غَنَمَ أَهْلِي وَكَانَتْ لِي ��ُرَيْرَةٌ صَغِيرَةٌ فَكُنْتُ أَضَعُهَا بِاللَّيْلِ فِي شَجَرَةٍ فَإِذَا كَانَ النَّهَارُ ذَهَبْتُ بِهَا مَعِي فَلَعِبْتُ بِهَا فَكَنَّوْنِي أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ

Abu Huraira said: “I would tend to the sheep of my people and I had a small kitten. I used to place it in a tree at night and during the day I would take it and play with it. So they nicknamed me Abu Huraira, ‘father of the kitten.’”
