Not surprising that these grants now require working with ICE, given the purpose was federal & local law enforcement collaboration. Sanctuary policies are just a small barrier when you have a fusion center and participation in DHS and FBI task forces.
DHS' UASI grant, which funds BRIC along w/ surveillance & emergency mgmt across 9 cities now requires 10% go to collaboration on border enforcement, like 287g agreements and detainer requests. Maybe now @MayorWu will listen to community demands to abolish BRIC and reject UASI!
UASI already required a percent go to law enforcement & terrorism prevention as well as requiring funding a fusion center (BRIC). The point of BRIC & UASI is collaboration w/ DHS and FBI which we know led to at least one deportation. These new reqs just make the purpose clearer!

The Boston Consulting Group, one of the world’s top consulting firms, played a key role in designing the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation. How did BCG end up helping build an aid network Palestinians and leading NGOs describe as a ‘death trap’—and why does their involvement matter?
Drop Site contributor @RNatourious breaks it down. ⬇️
