Here is what I bought. Works great. In areas of bedrock you have to search for a seam. By the end of the day you'll feel like you foul tipped about 1000 baseballs. Better than a sledge though.
Gopro/Wallet, Class ring, and apple watch all headed back to their owners. Hilarious seeing them react to river treasure they thought was lost forever.
River Treasure from a day on the Namekagon in Wisconsin. Apple watch, gopro, and 1/3 phones still work. A 1997 class ring already headed back to its owner, who lost it 20 years ago.
@CbusMetroParks Pleasant Valley Darby Creek isn't open. Is there any rhyme or reason to when that park is open/closed? Is there somewhere I can check ahead of time to see if it's closed?
It's hump day, so check out the cool humps on this federally endangered Cumberland Monkeyface (Theliderma intermedia). This exact specimen was collected in the Powell River, Virginia by @TimLane13 (photo credit) and @VDGIF Aquatic Wildlife Conservation Center
See thread: 5k E. aureola successfully transformed. Covid, be damned!! Of those, ~1,800 have made it to 1 mo. & ~600 um. Please, say a prayer or send a positive vibe to these little clams. They rep the latest positive result for the species but time is running out. #VDGIF_AWCC
@reinaamariee Same thing happened to me the other day. 6 weeks of no problems. Big presentation via skype? Time to update literally everything without asking.
Freshwater mussels are one of the planet's most endangered groups of animals - in North America alone, 30 species have gone extinct over the last century + 65% of those left are considered endangered, threatened or vulnerable #EndangeredSpeciesDay https://t.co/voOsG2r6CH
Check out this awesome Black Sandshell (Ligumia recta) showing off it's lure and siphons. This species can grow exceptionally long, up to 180mm (7 inches). Photo Credit: Kirt Jirka, Oswayo Creek, NY.
@DaveZanatta@MattAshton81 Make sure to start a life list of species for them. So when they're applying for grad school they can say they did their first survey 15 years ago.
