But technology is only one piece of this.
It’s about fair pay. Decent housing. Access to basic services. Keeping families together. And treating the people doing some of the hardest and most necessary work in this country with dignity.
I joined a migrant rights protest in Toronto this weekend.
I spoke to farm workers, healthcare workers and construction workers. People who made enormous sacrifices to come to Canada hoping to build a safer life.
Some of what they told me was hard to hear.
Surveillance isn’t just someone watching you.
It’s governments collecting huge amounts of information about people, profiling them at scale and using increasingly powerful technology in systems where the consequences can be life-changing.
A growing industry builds surveillance technology: AI-powered facial recognition, spyware and data-analysis platforms that track, identify, profile and target people. Companies including Palantir, Toka and Corsight AI are at the centre of growing concern over the systematic abuse of these technologies, at home and against Palestinians under occupation.
This roundtable brings together activists, researchers, and technologists involved in projects such as Purge Palantir, the Pegasus Project, and T4P’s Opt Out Rights to discuss athe technologies and corporate networks behind modern surveillance, and how we can disrupt and resist them.
Don’t miss out on this important conversation.

I built a company with someone for two years before meeting him in person. Today, that changed.
Aaranya and I met through @ycombinator’s co-founder matching, experimented across a few problem spaces, and kept pushing until we had something that could actually scale. Now we have real infrastructure, our first enterprise clients closed, agency partners in our corner, and angels supporting the vision.
And somehow, the entire team ended up in Vancouver, including Amin, who joined along the way. After more than 20 years in Toronto, I made the move. Unpacked, settled in, and straight back to building.
Vancouver is home now. And we’re gearing up for our official launch in January.
I recently shared a workflow on @zapier's blog, and many of you wanted the deeper breakdown, so here’s how we use AI orchestration as our first line of defence to screen out spammers, grifters, and bad-fit senders before a human ever gets involved. ⚡
I’ve personally met with each of the 60+ enterprises, agencies, and startups using our infrastructure.
We vet every customer before plugging them into Luella as we only work with high-quality senders who prioritize relevant, targeted outreach, not spray-and-pray.
Every sender we onboard shapes how Google and Microsoft see our infrastructure, so keeping the network clean is non-negotiable.
Manual vetting stays, but at scale, we needed a filter up front so the team spends time with the right people.
Under the hood, the Zap works like this:
• @zapier chatbot grabs your work email and sending domain 🤝
• Asks quick questions on volume, tools, lead source, past performance, consent, intent 🧠
• @OpenAI returns a fast risk read + summary 🟡🟢🔴
• Drops into @SlackHQ so we can review and trigger the right Gmail follow-up 📥➡️
We’ve been piloting this with partners.
Any time I’m on the fence about a prospect, I send the vetting link first.
I can quickly see how they think about volume, data, consent, and outcomes, and decide if a call makes sense or if they’re running spammy playbooks.
Our native Luella <> Zapier integration has also been approved and is on the way.
Luella will automatically check domains for blacklist hits and spam complaint risk before prospects move forward.
@zapier handles the flow, Luella scores reputation, and only the right senders advance.
Want the workflow? Drop “VET” in the comments and I’ll share the chatbot and template so you can try it yourself. 👇

Just completed our largest enterprise rollout. 500+ sales, marketing, and partnerships users now sending smarter and safer.
This all began with a 20-rep pilot just one year ago. We then scaled to their 120-person North American team. Now the entire global team is live.
After 3 months of security reviews, stakeholder alignment, and playbook training, here's what I learned.
Enterprise rollouts are change management first, software second. Clear owners, a shared decision log, and one source of truth everyone could trust. When IT, Security, RevOps, Marketing, and Sales work from the same plan, momentum compounds.
We ran the program from a single page. It tracked progress, blockers, dependencies, and next actions. Routine checkpoints kept everyone honest. No side threads. If it was not on the page, it did not happen.
We rolled out in stages with go or no go gates. When a signal dipped, we paused, fixed it, validated, and moved on. That cadence kept customer facing experiences calm.
We solved identity early. Getting domains, access, and authentication right upfront prevented rework and access gaps.
Legal and security stayed ahead of the work. RevOps owned adoption. Sales got training native to their workflow.
Scrappiness helped. We took one on one calls with front line reps, built custom sessions for their use cases, and jumped into huddles with engineering to clear blockers fast. Cutting wait time kept momentum.
The outcome was a quiet launch that kept trust intact and left the revenue teams free to sell. Change at speed without drama.
Everyone says Agent Builder just killed @zapier. Here’s why that’s wrong.
Agent Builder is chat-based. It’s great for reasoning and answer quality. It runs when you talk to it. It does not wake up on its own when a lead hits your CRM or a payment fails. That is not a Zapier replacement. That is a different category.
Production automation needs human oversight and determinism. The action layer should wake on events across eight thousand plus apps, run at 3 a.m. on schedule, move data with webhooks, and let you pick the best model for each step. Keep the governance and the logic steady while the model can change. That is what AI orchestration is for.
Enterprise is where the gap gets obvious. Teams need role-based access. SSO. Human approvals when the stakes are high. Run history you can replay and explain. Audit trails legal will sign. Deterministic workflows that survive ugly Tuesdays.
Keep the model swappable and the policy constant. Optionality is a control, not a convenience. Let reasoning evolve. Keep orchestration observable and under change control.
This is not the first time people have called Zapier dead, and it will not be the last. Every wave of Zapier killers proves why durable orchestration and real governance matter.
