Meet Harsh Arora, Founder & CEO of Menteve, a BFI-BIOME Fellow working at the intersection of Neuroscience, Hardware, and Software to make brain monitoring more accessible.
Great. First faculty led start-up from India to hit the stock market! Great milestone for Indian academia and the startup world. Strong support from incubators too esp SINE and IKP (via India Innovation Fund that had @tdbgoi funds)

Biomedical innovators often work in isolation.
Without structured feedback or ecosystem access
– Products miss clinical realities.
– Solutions lack regulatory direction.
– Innovation drifts away from real patient needs.
That’s the gap BFI-BIOME solves.
Once innovators receive BFI-BIOME funding, they don’t just receive capital, they become part of the BFI Network.
A network of clinicians, researchers, industry leaders, and ecosystem partners who provide feedback, guidance, and market validation.
Because innovation doesn’t grow in silos. It grows in ecosystems.
At the India AI Impact Summit 2026, Blockchain for Impact positioned AI enabled healthcare and biomedical research at the center of India’s AI mission.
Through 10+ panel discussions, engagement with 70+ leaders, participation from 15+ research organizations, 25 startups showcased, 25 startup pitches, and 700+ visitors at the BFI Pavilion, the conversations moved decisively toward translational innovation and market ready health solutions. Twelve startups were selected for BFI VK CONNECT to begin their EU market journey.
At BFI, we recognize that India’s healthcare future can be significantly strengthened by startups and research institutions that leverage AI to build scalable, evidence driven solutions. Our efforts at the Summit were focused on enabling exactly this, advancing AI powered innovation that strengthens the biomedical ecosystem of India.
Welfare for All. Happiness for All.
At BFI, we believe that with AI led healthcare innovation, we can move closer to Health for All.

@BFI_Impact@sandeepnailwal During my master thesis, I have seen students, JRFs and PhDs suffer in terms of delayed salaries. Its very demotivating for a researchers. Upfront grants like these are definetly needed.
Indian academia embraces Saraswati, but often stays away from Lakshmi.
That must change.
— Prof. V. Ramgopal Rao
In Episode 3 of science.unblocked, Prof. Ramgopal Rao unpacks the systemic reasons behind this paradox and what India must do to move from papers to products.

@_KarishmaK Today I was so moved specially by those projects that are reaching school students of rural areas for scicom.
As someone who has completed his schooling in Nandurbar in an Advivasi school, I am glad that because of IBS and scicom community, India is indeed becoming better.

Was having post podcast conversation with @DeepakNModi where he asked why there are fewer women scientists on your podcast.
He explained me the scenario and after that from more than 1 year now, I was asking this question which is finally out- https://t.co/30R5XetmR6
