I took some time to investigate the on-chain activity of $SUNUSI

Here’s what I found📌

From my investigation, it appears that the website used by @SunusiMinjibir had a malicious mechanism built into it.

The website was programmed so that whenever you tried to burn tokens, it would burn only 0.1% of the amount you intended to destroy, while automatically transferring the remaining 99.9% to another wallet.

In the case of $SUNUSI, they attempted to burn more than 242M tokens. However, because of how the website was programmed, only about 242K tokens (0.1%) were actually burned, while the rest was transferred

You can verify this directly on-chain.

One of the most deceptive parts is that when you click on the transfer transaction on-chain, it redirects you to the burn transaction, making it appear as though the tokens were burned.

This was a sophisticated trick, and even experienced people can fall victim to scams like this.

I’m not posting this to blindly defend @SunusiMinjibir I’m simply sharing what I found from the on-chain data, which is public and transparent

In my opinion, the biggest mistake was telling people to sell. It may have been better to ask holders to stay calm and organize a CTO (Community Takeover) after the hackers were gone.

My heart goes out to everyone who lost money in this incident.

Based on the on-chain evidence I reviewed, I couldn’t find any indication that @SunusiMinjibir intended to harm holders. The apparent intention was to burn tokens and reduce the circulating supply, but the website’s malicious code prevented that from happening.

If anyone disagrees with this conclusion, I encourage them to present on-chain evidence rather than make accusations without proof.

I did this research to find the truth, not to take anyone’s side.

Finally, I’d like to send my heartfelt support to @SunusiMinjibir and wish him all the best moving forward. ❤️

Ask yourself this: How many years have you been trading on DEX? How much money have you lost?

How many major projects have crashed in the past?

Where are $MEOW, $MYRO, $BONK, $WIF, and many others today?

Every great project faces challenges.

I honestly believe this is another test. If we overcome it together, we'll look back one day and be proud that we didn't give up.

Nothing valuable comes without difficulties.

Let's not allow this incident to discourage @SunusiMinjibir . He has changed the way many people in our region look at DEX trading.

Whether people admit it or not, we've already achieved something many believed was impossible for Northern Nigeria.

Don't let criticism from outsiders weaken your conviction.

Many people have spent years trading on DEX without making meaningful profits.

Yet because of this project, many community members experienced their first 20x, 30x, and even higher returns.

Some had never even seen a 5x before.

Now that we've been tested, should we simply give up?

Think about the future.

If we can't stand behind our own builders during difficult times, will we continue sending our money to projects from elsewhere while they abandon us?

Let's think carefully.

Don't allow negativity or rivalries to influence your decisions.

Remember, this project was criticized from the very beginning, yet it continued to grow.

Challenges don't erase the work that has already been done.

From what we've seen, Sunusi invested a significant amount of his own money into this project because he wanted it to succeed.

No one wishes for setbacks like this.

I sincerely pray that Allah protects him, grants him strength, and guides him through this difficult period.

Our community has already accomplished something remarkable.

By the will of Allah, this won't be the end of our story.

Education tops with N135bn as Zulum presents N890.33b 2026 budget

Governor Babagana Umara Zulum of Borno State on Monday presented a N890,331,686,000.00 budget proposal for the 2026 fiscal year to the State House of Assembly, with the education sector receiving the highest single-sector allocation of N135 billion.

Tagged the “Budget of Sustained Recovery and Growth,” it places the capital expenditure at over 61% of the total budget, while the recurrent expenditure is at about 39%.

In his address before the House of Assembly, Zulum detailed the budget’s composition, announcing a total recurrent expenditure of N353,767,349,000.00 and a higher capital expenditure of N536564,337,000.00.

The budget structure, he stated, underscored his administration’s commitment to long-term development and infrastructure renewal, crucial for a state on a sustained path of recovery from insurgency.

“Mr Speaker, Honourable Members, this budget stands as a testament to our steadfast dedication to fostering sustained recovery and growth, even in the face of challenges. It embodies our resolute pledge to rebuild our communities, restore economic vitality, and secure a safer and more prosperous future for every citizen,” Zulum said.

Breaking down the sectoral allocations, the governor highlighted key ministries that received substantial portions of the capital vote.

The education sector emerged top with a combined allocation of N135,430,647,000.00. This fund is earmarked for the construction of new schools, the rehabilitation of destroyed facilities, scholarship programmes and the recruitment of teachers across the state.

Following closely was the works and housing sector which received N 94,270,541,000.00. This allocation is dedicated to continuing the aggressive construction of urban and rural roads, building new bridges, and executing major housing projects for the residents and civil servants.

The health sector was allocated N66,408,136,000.00 which is expected to fund the completion and equipping of ongoing hospital projects as well as the procurement of essential drugs.

Other sectors with significant allocations include the Ministry of Reconstruction, Rehabilitation, and Resettlement (RRR) (N58,710,006,000.00) which remains critical for the returning of internally displaced persons to their rebuilt communities; the Ministry of Information and Internal Security, which will consolidate the gains of 2025 activities and navigate on new grounds that would explore more frontiers of operation, Agriculture (N44,947,429,000) to boost food security and support farmers and the Ministry of Water Resources with N21,353,536,000.00.

The governor projected total revenue of N317,688,140,000.00 for the year from the Federation Account, N44,300,801,000.00 from Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) and estimated capital receipts for the year of N417,226,513,000.00, which encompasses Aid, Grants and the Capital Development Fund.

In his response, Speaker Abdulkarim Lawan assured the governor of the Assembly’s swift and diligent scrutiny of the budget proposal. He pledged that the legislature would conduct a detailed review to ensure it aligns with the state’s developmental needs before passage.

Zulum Mourns BOSU Students, Pledges to Enforce Ban on Trailers into the Metropolis

@BornoGovt State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara @ProfZulum, has expressed his heartfelt condolences to the Borno State University (BOSU) community as well as to the parents and guardians of students affected by the tragic motor accident along Maiduguri-Damaturu road.

The accident which occurred at Njimtilo area on Wednesday evening claimed the lives of two students, left 16 critically injured. However, eight of the affected students have been discharged and are recuperating.

“I extend my deepest sympathies to families of the affected students, the management, staff, and students of Borno State University over this unfortunate incident,” Governor Zulum said.

“I am deeply touched by this tragic accident involving a students’ bus and a trailer, which occurred as the students were returning after completing their examinations.”

In response to the incident, Governor Zulum has directed the Ministry of Works to expedite the completion of the ongoing Maiduguri Trailer Park project.

He also announced that the state government will soon enforce a ban on trailers and other heavy vehicles from accessing the city center to minimize future accidents.

“I have instructed the Ministry of Works to ensure the immediate completion of the trailer park. Once operational, trailers will no longer be permitted into the city centre, a move aimed at reducing intra-city road accidents within the metropolis,” the governor reiterated.

“Borno State government will take deliberate and decisive measures to prevent a recurrence of such a tragic incident.”

Governor Zulum further announced that the state government would cover all medical expenses for the injured students currently receiving treatment.

He also pledged to personally visit the victims in the hospital to sympathize with them and their families.

He wished the injured students a swift recovery and assured the public of government’s commitment to improving road safety measures across the state.
