Imam Sufyan Ibn Uyaynah, said:
If a person’s sin is rooted in desire, there is hope for him, but , if rooted in pride, then fear for him, because Adam disobeyed out of desire and was forgiven, while Iblis disobeyed out of pride and was cursed.
Siyar A'lam An-Nubula 8/462
Abu Hurairah (Allah be pleased with him) said: “A man came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and with him was his young son whom he started to hug.”
So the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to him: “You show him mercy?” The man replied: “Yes”
So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Allah is more merciful with you than you are with your son—and He is the most merciful of those who show mercy.”

The senior scholars are a tremendous blessing for this Ummah.
It is upon us to benefit from them while they are still living, for they are examples of knowledge and wisdom.
May Allah preserve him.

Narrated by Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him), the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: "There will be afflictions (fitan) in the near future, during which a sitting person will be better than a standing one, and the standing one will be better than the walking one, and the walking one will be better than the running one. Whoever exposes himself to them will be destroyed by them, so whoever can find a place of protection or refuge from them, should take shelter in it." — Sahih al-Bukhari (7081) and Sahih Muslim (2886)
Beautiful advice from Al-‘Allamah Shaykh Salih al-Fawzan regarding how to navigate issues of ijtihād where the scholars differ.
Such differing should not lead to enmity, boycotting, or division, as done by the blind-following bigots and people of innovation.
