Is isolation really an effective behaviour standard in schools or is it degrading, merely reinforcing the issues that may be associated with unstable or impoverished families? Does it have the potential to create neglection in schools, further leading to crime? #school#crime
Youth coordination remains a low priority for local councils due to budget cuts. However, it is important to recognise that building trust with the police requires funding, attention and greater priority to the issue. It will no longer be a second hand issue. #politics#council
I think we can all agree that the summer holidays are flying by. However, this time of the year is a great opportunity for police to offer engagement through summer programmes for children- driving away crime and prevent youth from engaging in it in their free time #Police

#WestMidsPCC#school#police In WM, Youth violence has increased rapidly- I urge the PCC to seek active engagement and cooperation with schools to ensure they are aware of how to identify a pupil at risk of criminal activity. Educating people about this is the only way forward.
#education#Police#schools In 2023, 738 incidents involving knifes in schools were reported. We must put Aston to violence so schools can focus on what really matters- learning. I urge the government to introduce new schemes that enable police to work with local schools
daily.
As the school year has drawn to a close, there is an increasing risk regarding the potential of youth engagement in criminal activity. I believe it is imperative that we seek to introduce activities that align with interests of young people- in attempt to end youth violence.
@ramadan@birmingham @celebrate Ramadan Mubarak everyone! I hope this blessed month brings peace, fortune, and happiness for Muslims all around the world. Let us support each other as a community and ensure we can enjoy a safe and meaningful Ramadan- full of blessings and cheer.
#simonfosterPCC#school#youth#westmids In West Midlands- there has been a surge in youth involvement in knife crime. Too many young people believe carrying a weapon is the only way to solve their problems. We need more education, more awareness and more support from the police.

#simonfosterPCC#education Leaders often complain about the increasing behaviour issues in schools. It is impossible to stop disruption in schools- we should be using the data we have to see why they may have these issues e.g. single-parent houses, living in poverty, abuse.

#school#westmidlandsPCC#police The presence of child exploitation is ever-growing in the West Midlands- schools must be educated about how to identify a child being exploited and the signs to suggest this, e.g. bruises, multiple phones, and suddenly wearing expensive clothing.
@WestMidsPCC I completely agree with the points you've made. The community must be reassured that the future of the police service remains with the person they have put faith in for several years. You have been rightfully elected- and so under democratic rules you have the right to be PCC.

@tombennett71 I agree with what you have raised- however, letting these children who have behavioural issues out in the community isn't ensuring the safety of the others- it is somewhat encouraging anti-social behaviour and an increase in the number of youth engaging with criminal activity.
