Shameful decision.
The Turkmen front openly organises rallies that call for the displacement of Kurds in Kirkuk - rallies that claim Kirkuk to be a Turkish city while categorically rejecting any Kurdish claims to the city.
In the past we also saw regular attacks by the Turkmen front against Kurdish residents.
This front is now given the governorship over the city in a bid to secure their loyalty to the newfound PUK led *alliance* - at first glance this might appear to be a strategic move with a positive long term outcome; yet, when we look at past developments and experiences, it is certain that the Turkmen front will seek to strengthen their own position to outmanoeuvre the Kurdish majority in the city - add to it support from the Kurdish government and support from the IRGC led PMF which controls the PMF-Turkmen units and we will have long term negative consequences.
Not a single bullet has been shot from Kurdistan towards Iran by anyone, yet it has got attacked most by Iran and its affiliated terrorist groups in Iraq.
PDKI’s Asso Hassan Zadeh @assohz at the Iran Freedom Congress @if_congress opens his speech in Kurdish, then pauses:
“Sorry, I forgot I’m expected to speak in Farsi.”
With that alone, he makes his point:
“The majority of you here are Farsi speakers or understand it, & we Kurds are the minority. Yet with just a few Kurdish words, I dominated the room & put you in an uncomfortable & unfavorable position.
This is exactly what has been happening in Iran for more than a hundred years: a segment of the population…has, through national identity & language, come to dominate.”

The Qizqapan relief symbol of “Anahita,” and the logo of the "Alliance of the Iranian Kurdistan Political Parties."
The round decoration above the Qizqapan tomb has a central circle with 11 rays, each ending in a small half-circle. It was probably painted red.
This symbol likely shows the sun or the goddess “Ishtar-Anahita,” meaning the tomb is under divine protection.
It reflects Median religious beliefs, maybe linked to Mithraism, showing that the ruler buried there, possibly Cyaxares, had divine approval.
The tomb and its decoration date from the Median-Achaemenid period (600–330 BCE) and mix celestial symbols with burial architecture to show its sacred and royal importance.
