Held a meeting with the Kenya Defence Forces Special Infrastructure Department, which paid a courtesy call to my office. Together, we deliberated on key areas of partnership which, once implemented, will be of great benefit to the people of Machakos County, particularly in strengthening infrastructure development.

Hosted the National Assembly Trade, Industry and Cooperatives Committee, led by Chairperson Robert Gichimu, alongside Machakos County MP Hon. Joyce Kamene Kasimbi, during a public participation exercise on the proposed National Hawkers Protection Law.
The proposed law seeks to protect hawkers by ensuring fair trading spaces, shielding them from harassment and unlawful evictions, promoting access to affordable licenses, and creating a more structured and supportive business environment for small-scale traders to thrive and grow their livelihoods.

Since I assumed office as governor, we have steadily increased the bursary fund from KSh 80 million in the first year to KSh 120 million in subsequent years, and next year we plan to raise it to KSh 160 million. This programme continues to open doors for needy students and strengthen access to quality education across the county.

This Wednesday, 15th April 2026, I will officially launch a Youth Empowerment Programme at Nguluni Market in Matungulu West Ward, Matungulu Sub-County. The programme will focus on motor vehicle and bodaboda driving training, targeting youth from all the 40 wards across the county.
Upon successful completion of the training, beneficiaries will be issued with driving licenses by the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA), empowering them to earn a living and build a better future.
Together, we are creating pathways to employment, dignity, and self-reliance for our young people.
As we mark this blessed Easter season, may the message of Christ’s resurrection remind us of the power of hope, love, and new beginnings.
