We extend heartfelt congratulations to the Rt. Rev. Eraste Bigirimana, upon his election as the 6th Archbishop and Primate of the Anglican Church of Burundi.

👌His remarkable journey of faith, servant leadership, and commitment to the Gospel continues to inspire the @UCUniversity family and the wider Anglican Communion.

The election was held on May 21, 2026, and the installation is planned for August 23, 2026, at Holy Trinity Cathedral in Bujumbura, where Bishop-Elect Eraste will succeed the former primate, the Most Rev Sixbert Macumi, who has led the Province of the Anglican Church of Burundi since 2021.

📌Eraste pursued a Master of Divinity; his appointment exemplifies the university's mission of equipping leaders who serve with integrity, excellence, and Christ-centered purpose.

We celebrate this well deserved milestone and pray that God grants him wisdom, strength, and abundant grace as he shepherds the Church in Burundi into a new season of unity, spiritual renewal, and faithful witness.🤝
