"We chose the name Raila as a tribute, to honor his legacy and keep it alive," Singapore-based Kenyan model Sheila Mutundi has said, explaining the inspiration behind the soon-to-be-launched Raila Airways.

Mutundi, who was spotted with George Ruto in Bali, said that the airline will offer employment and investment opportunities to Kenyans while building an international presence.

Although it will not operate locally, the airline plans to run flights between Malaysia and Nairobi twice weekly.

"Having Baba’s name on an airline is a proud moment for us as Kenyans. Our vision is to grow it into a respected international airline that represents excellence and ambition. Although it is an international company, we plan to work closely with many Kenyans, both as investors and as employees," Sheila said.
