Sheikh ibn 'Uthaymeen mentioned the following in his explanation of Riyadh al-Saliheen:
"Whatever kind of good deeds you do, do not become amazed with your own actions, for your deeds are quite small in comparison to Allah's right over you”

Ibn Hibban رحمه الله:
"I have never seen anyone who was arrogant towards those below him, except that Allāh afflicted him with humiliation from those above him."

Shaykh Ibn Baaz رحمه الله said:
If you see yourself harming your brother or sister fi Allah—by backbiting, insulting, gossiping, lying, or (anything) other than that—then know that your eemaan is incomplete and that you are weak in faith.
