Our partners, The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), has injected Sh28.5 million to the livestock production value chain.
The project to which is being implemented under the Livestock Commercialization Programme (Kelcop) will see the following projects done:
1. Iten slaughter house will have a new face and its services automated at a cost of Sh6.5 million.
2. Improvement of Kipcheptem sale yard in Soy North ward at a cost of Sh13 million.
3. The sinking and solarisation of Kapseret borehole in Cherangany-Chebororwa Ward at Sh9 million.
The program, whose aim is to increase household earnings through livestock production, will run for six years in Cherangany-Chebororwa, Tambach, Soy North, and Sambirir Wards..
A team from IFAD and Kelcop led by Mr. Ronald Ajengo today visited the county for assessment of the projects whose works will commence in a fortnight.
