@RaisingVoices@GBVnet Hello feminist community ✊🏽
I am Pauline Amosso Odegea, National Youth President of DAP-K, and I am preparing to vie for an MP seat in 2027.
Young women must be trained, mentored, and structurally supported to lead and win. I am seeking feminist political partnerships.
This afternoon, I hosted a delegation from Murang’a County at Kithimani Farm, for an honest and forward looking conversation about the challenges our people are facing, the state of leadership in our country, and the Kenya we must deliberately build together.
I was joined by Hon Eugene Wamalwa, Hon Urbanus Wambua, Adv Ndegwa Njiru, and other leaders who share a deep commitment to courage, justice, and principled politics. I reaffirmed my solidarity with leaders who refuse to be intimidated and my unwavering stand with a generation whose voices matter and whose lives must never be treated as expendable.
Kenya belongs to all of us, and its future will be shaped by those who choose truth, fairness, and accountability over fear and silence.

Mulembe nation and Kenya has lost a generous son Cyrus Shakhalaga Okhwa Jirongo whose impact in politics, business, family and friendships shaped his lifetime.
He gave a back and full support to many leaders to rise including myself in his heydays as MP, Minister, politician and businessman.
Even in his recent times from the limelight, he remained a true friend whom we constantly met, shared alot, reminanced nostalgic time and his plans.
My big brother and mentor Jirongo, you left us unexpectedly in a tragic manner. To his family and the great Mulembe nation, we have lost an honest and trustworthy son. Be comforted and let CJ RIP.

Building Stronger Early Warning and Response in Hindi
On 11th December 2025, @Mwarpkenya , in collaboration with @InteriorKE and supported through the #AmaniMpakaniInitiative under the @DerisWanaag programme, convened a dynamic Early Warning and Early Response forum in Hindi Ward to strengthen #community resilience to emerging #security threats.
The forum brought together local #leaders, #peace structures, and #security actors to review recent trends, interpret early #warning #signs, and enhance #coordination in reporting and response. Open dialogue, especially with the newly posted #OCS, clarified how #intelligence should be shared, how #cases are followed up, and which local issues need close watch.
Participants highlighted key concerns such as #poaching, illicit #alcohol dens, #land-use disputes, and unusual movements of #unfamiliar individuals, while mapping high-risk areas and suggesting local #solutions.
The forum concluded with strong commitments to improve #information flow, speed up security responses, and revitalize community policing. Leaders pledged to energize Nyumba Kumi networks and support newcomer #registration, while security actors committed to reactivating community policing committees, fast-tracking pending cases, especially #SGBV, and strengthening joint surveillance across #Hindi and #Mkunumbi.

Uniting Youth Voices and Law Enforcement for Lasting Peace!
@Mwarpkenya , under the #KujengaAmaniProject, conducted a follow-up Human Rights-Based Approach (HRBA) to Peacebuilding training with law enforcement officers from #Matuga Sub-County, Kwale County.
The training brought together officers from both the national administration and county government, creating a space to jointly analyze community security challenges through an HRBA lens.
One of the most important highlights was the meaningful engagement between #officers and #YoungPeople who presented the #Kwale_County_Youth_Policy_Brief, developed earlier during the youth caravan in #Matuga Sub-County.
Yesterday marked the second and final day of the training, where officers developed actionable commitments for strengthening police–community collaboration. Moving forward, the officers leave the sessions better informed about Human Rights and well-equipped with #HRBA principles to support #peacebuilding efforts within their jurisdictions.
Together, we continue shaping inclusive and sustainable security structures in Kwale County.

✨ Sailing Towards Peace and Unity! 🚤
@Mwarpkenya , through the #AmaniMpakaniProject, supported by @DerisWanaag and funded by the @UKinKenya , convened a Religious Leaders–Security Actors dialogue on 2nd December 2025 in Mokowe.
The engagement brought together #Christian and #Muslim religious leaders and #security officials for an open and collaborative discussion on strengthening community–security relations and preventing #violent extremism, steering the region toward calmer, safer waters.
Participants discussed the #Religious_Organisations_Bill, 2024, raising concerns about its strict provisions and emphasizing the need for more #inclusive consultations with #faith actors.
Key challenges highlighted included low #trust, limited #resources, inadequate #security presence, #political interference, #drug abuse, #fear of testifying, and farmer–herder #tensions. Proposed solutions ranged from improved #information-sharing and revitalised community #policing to stronger confidentiality measures, joint #Youth activities, and more #peace messaging within religious spaces.
The dialogue also helped dispel misconceptions linking violence to religion, affirming that no faith endorses harm.
Key commitments:
Reactivating community policing structures
Strengthening youth–security sporting initiatives
Integrating peace messages into religious teachings
Deepening interfaith collaboration
Jointly reviewing the Religious Organisations Bill
The session closed with renewed #trust and a collective commitment to continue working together, just like a well-guided dhow, to advance #peace, #unity, and #resilience across the region.

@Mwarpkenya is delighted to share that our team participated in an intensive four-day training on Digital Advocacy and Artificial Intelligence, organized by @UNDPKenya under the #Amkeni_Wakenya Grant Programme, supported by the @NLinKenya .
This was a nationwide convening that brought together civil society organizations from across Kenya's diverse regions. #MWARP proudly represented the #Coast region alongside our esteemed partners @Huria_KE and @KECOSCE forming a powerful coastal coalition committed to advancing #digitalrights and #civic freedoms in our communities.
The timing could not be more critical. Across #Kenya and indeed throughout the continent, we are witnessing a troubling trend where powerful individuals and state actors are systematically working to #shrink civic space, both in physical settings and increasingly in digital environments. Civil society organizations, human rights defenders, and ordinary citizens advocating for #accountability and #justice find themselves facing growing restrictions on their ability to #organize, #communicate, and #mobilize for #change.
What makes this moment even more complex is the rapid evolution of #technology itself. While digital tools have opened unprecedented #opportunities for civic engagement, allowing communities to connect, organize, and amplify their #voices like never before, these same technologies are being weaponized to surveil #activists, spread #disinformation, #censor dissenting voices, and harass those who dare to #speak truth to power. The digital spaces that once promised liberation are increasingly becoming sites of control and violence, particularly against marginalized communities and those working for social justice.
Artificial intelligence adds yet another layer to this #challenge. As AI systems become more sophisticated and accessible, they present both tremendous opportunities for civil society innovation and serious risks of misuse by those seeking to further restrict civic freedoms. Understanding how to harness AI for #advocacy while protecting ourselves and our communities from AI-enabled threats has become essential for any organization serious about sustaining its impact in this rapidly changing landscape.
This training equipped participants with critical knowledge and practical tools to navigate these complex challenges, ensuring that we can continue our vital work of protecting #rights and expanding freedoms even as the environment around us becomes more restrictive and technologically sophisticated.
