Shrine Bowl Player Spotlight: Cooper Williams of Clearwater High School will suit up for the West Side All-Stars in this year’s Kansas Shrine Bowl and wear #11 on Saturday in Dodge City. In his senior season the 6’3”, 180-pound DB/WR totaled 132 carries for 750 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns, while also making plays on defense with 15 tackles, 2 interceptions, and a pass breakup. “Super grateful to be selected to play in the Shrine Bowl and compete with some good competition,” Williams said. “Also can’t wait to have fun practicing and going to all the events and supporting the great cause.” His favorite HS sports memory is the first game back from his ACL tear, scoring 4 TDs and recording an INT in a win. After high school, Williams will continue his academic and athletic career at Butler Community College. #sportsinkansas

2nd Fastest in KS History: Manhattan’s (6A) 4x100 team of Harli Omli, Sarah Oberrueter, Hanna Pellant, and Michelle Jeje continues to dominate as they shattered their own school record with a time of 47.23. Not only is this the fastest time in the state all classes, it is also the 2nd fastest time in Kansas history 😳 Omli (Texas Tech commit) and Pellant (Ole Miss commit) are two of the fastest girls in Kansas history. They along with Oberrueter won the 4x100 at the state meet last year and adding freshman Jeje look repeat as their time is more than 1.5 seconds above anyone else in the state right now. #sportsinkansas
