The Process Design Meeting in support of H.E. Uhuru Kenyatta’s Armed Groups Working Stream for the Eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) Peace Process has commenced in Nairobi, 22–24 June 2026.

This closed‑door technical session brings together representatives from the African Union, East African Community, Southern African Development Community, the United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the DRC, the Office of the Special Envoy for the Great Lakes Region, and leading experts.

Short-term aid often creates cycles of dependency that limit long-term community growth. When development initiatives rely on transactional handouts, they address immediate symptoms while leaving the underlying causes of economic vulnerability untouched.

Our Inuka Program rejects this paradigm by focusing on sustainable, structured financial inclusion. We provide local women's groups with the tools and capital required to build independent economic security.

There is evident success through the program. We are investing in sustainable frameworks that allow families to build lasting self-reliance as well building the community as well.

NAIROBI, 4 June 2026: Former President Uhuru Kenyatta today participated in a high-level meeting of the Advisory Board for Women, Peace and Security in the Great Lakes Region, where he engaged with women leaders, civil society representatives, and regional stakeholders in his capacity as Facilitator of the African Union-led peace process for Eastern DRC.

The discussions provided valuable community perspectives and lived experiences of the conflict, helping to inform conflict analysis and support a more inclusive and people-centred peace process.

The virtual meeting also highlighted the critical role of regional cooperation, with women, youth, and civil society networks presenting cross-border initiatives aimed at strengthening collaboration and advancing the Women, Peace and Security agenda.

As efforts towards lasting peace continue, stakeholders reaffirmed the importance of inclusive dialogue, local ownership, and sustained partnerships in addressing the region's challenges and building a more stable and prosperous future.

H.E. President (Rtd) Uhuru Kenyatta and Head of the #AUEOM to the 1 June 2026 General Elections in the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, today met with representatives of non-African diplomatic missions in Addis Ababa.

The engagement provided an opportunity to exchange views on the conduct of the elections, including the voting process, the overall electoral environment, and preliminary observations from the field.

Their discussions focused on the state of preparedness for the upcoming elections, as well as opportunities for continued collaboration in supporting Ethiopia’s democratisation process, peace, and long-term development.

I join the nation in mourning with the families who have lost their loved ones in the tragic fire at Utumishi Girls Academy in Gilgil. My heart goes out to the parents, guardians, students, teachers, and the entire school community during this painful time. I pray for God's comfort and strength for every family bearing this heavy loss.

May God grant eternal peace to those we have lost, comfort to those mourning, a swift recovery to the injured, and courage to all affected in the days ahead.
