The reason John Mbadi must wait for the President’s return before reviewing fuel prices is because Ruto, through his proxies, controls the private oil marketers contracted under the Government-to-Gangsters (G2G) fuel deal. He doesn’t want to interfere with the profits the President is making from this fuel hike. For him, fuel prices can wait until June but protecting the President’s profit margins from the hike, is the bigger priority.
