@Joanna__Hardy@HudsonKerry It doesn’t help that as well as having over 140 cases that the lawyers have been told to prioritise other work ahead of active matters.
@elega_rose@Defencebrief It should be dropped in the Public Interest if that is everything. However the CPS is so short staffed that no one has time to review anything properly.
@gurdena Not entirely sure what you want the CPS to have done? The amount of barristers is not down to the CPS. The government decimated fees for legal aid. Nothing to do with the CPS!
@DefenceFaithful To be fair - there are quite a few CPS leaving to join / rejoin the defence when they realise it is not all sunshine and rainbows here !!
@PolicemansLot @TweetingYet@CrimeGirI The problem is have you submitted it? Because sometimes I may ask for something and I have missed it. But often it is because it was never sent from the police computer. You may have saved it your end but if we don’t have it we can’t look at it.
@PolicemansLot @TweetingYet@CrimeGirI It really isn’t easier? We read the cases. If there is evidence to charge then fine. Otherwise we set an action plan. When the case comes back we have to read it again. We are not idiots. That is not efficient. But we need the evidence.
@FaiselSadiq @TweetingYet@CrimeGirI This is exactly it. The CPS is on its knees. Not enough lawyers. Cases which take ages as there is hours of BWV and CCTV etc. More cars being submitted than can possibly be dealt with.
@TweetingYet@CrimeGirI There is no cherry picking of cases that’s just not how it works. The police for some reason seem to think as they have no issues with reputation or police officers attacking innocent people that they can also be relied on to charge cases!!
#LearnFromLawyers If your client says "I didn't download those images it must have been my wife" THAT WILL ABSOLUTELY NOT FLY WITH A JURY. This defence never ever works and is always hilariously fails.
