The Namibian Parliament is not a SWAPO party committee meant to rubber-stamp the wishes of Cabinet. We are an independent arm of the State, mandated by the people to be a check on power, not a conveyor belt for Executive failures. When bills are rushed or late, poorly drafted, or serve only narrow political interests, it is our sworn duty to the Namibian people to reject, amend, and interrogate them without fear or favour! Too many questions? Well Questions are part of Article 41 of our constitution… Ministers are accountable to Parliament! Oh and motions in Parliament can indeed be the genesis of a bill in the Namibian system, though the process differs depending on which house it starts in and who introduces it. Advisors to the President must really do their work!

Clearly a lot of people resonate with the realities of the boy child in Namibia. This conversation needs to take center stage. We can no longer sit quietly while the system excludes the boy child.
The exploitive behavior of women is a major reason why men are taking their own lives, but women in power refuse to acknowledge it. A taxi driver sacrifices everything to see his woman graduate, and she leaves him after she completes her studies. Men in leadership pushed progress for all, women returned the favor by leaving men behind.
We do what we say? - So what about the N$ 3000 monthly for the pensioners promised during the last election campaign?
Maybe it is better to first think before talk?
I met the Minister of Gender, @e_kantema, during the UN General Assembly and asked if she is aware of the challenges facing the boy child in Namibia. She didn’t show much enthusiasm, it didn’t seem like a priority. Minister Emma, I’ll be here to remind you: that the Gender Ministry is not exclusively for women’s issues.
