"Mutual Aid is a practice and politics that emphasizes solidarity rather than charity." It creates or strengthens relationships and builds solidarity. Capitalism creates inequality, we will create alternatives to heal and help our people.

“So it’s going to be up to the attorney general whether he’s going to hear the voices of the community and implement those much needed changes, or are they going to dictate to us what is going to happen." — @zellieimani@NJSpotlightNews/@Report4America

🚨 Call to action!! 🚨
The NJ Attorney General will be in Paterson this Thursday to host a listening session on mental health and public safety? They aren't promoting it well.
Can we count on you to spread the word and show up for victims of police violence?
At our BLM Harm Reduction center, community members that use substances or are houseless come to get resources, and also just to relax and decompress!
Thankful for those with green thumbs keeping our plants alive 😭😭
Black Lives Matter Paterson recently opened the city’s first harm reduction center to help those affected by substance abuse and opioid overdose. The facility opened in February and now helps about 60 people daily. https://t.co/dmqmkMwSmM

The recently opened Black Lives Matter Harm Reduction center doesn’t just provide narcan & harm reduction kits.
But it provides love & support. We recognize the humanity of our community members that use substances. No one is disposable @NJSpotlightNews https://t.co/yv8HIdOE9M
Our harm reduction outreach team formed in the winter of 2022.
Throughout the winter we distributed hot dinners, blankets, hats, and gloves to support our houseless neighbors.
We needed to build relationships. We needed people alive.
The center was three years in the making and began with a nightly street outreach crew that distributed hand sanitizers and face masks. With the help of more funding, we began distributing needles and Narcan, a drug that counteracts overdoses. https://t.co/ifM28j4ZyT

8 miles away in Millburn (2% Black), it is $1,096,200.
Why?
Redlining in NJ designed it this way.
