Diana died on 31 August 1997.

The decision to bury her on the island at Althorp was only announced on 5 September, the day before her funeral. Until then, the plan was for her to be buried in the Spencer family vault at the church in Great Brington.

The island grave had been consecrated and prepared by 6 September, when Diana was buried there after the Westminster Abbey funeral.

Sorry, but this blows my mind. The fact that Charles Spencer didn't take his wife Victoria to Princess Diana's funeral and burial—but instead took Josie Borain who was one of the two mistresses he had at the time—shows the true level of respect he had for his sister. For example, I didn’t know that the Spencer’s and Al Fayed’s had been great friends for many years, so much so that the Spencer’s loaned their chefs to train Al Fayed’s kitchen staff at Harrods!

Years later, the monarchy obsessed Al Fayed’s son, though engaged, started a relationship with Diana!

Something tells me Al Fayed orchestrated a Diana and Dodi meeting!

Btw. The Harrods £65 million fund to compensate some 500 victims of Al Fayed’s rape, pedophilia, trafficking only closed this year!
