테슬라를 떠날수도 있다고 협박도 하고..

테슬라 투자자들 중에서 '일론이 트위터를 인수한 것'에 대해 여전히 불만 있는 사람들이 있을 거다.

이해는 된다.
당시 주가가 -70% 가량 빠졌고, ($410 → $108)
일론 지분율도 크게 하락했으니.. (23%대 → 13%대)

근데 그럼에도 불구하고 나는 일론의 '트위터 인수는 신의 한수였다'고 생각한다.
트위터가 𝕏가 되면서 많은 분들이 크리에이터로 인정받아 보상을 받기 시작했고, 그후 𝕏는 가장 진실된 플랫폼으로 발전되었다.

가장 중요한 건 Grok이다.
LLM으로서는 아직 엄청나게 뛰어나거나 돋보적인 위치는 아니다.
하지만 작년부터 테슬라 차량에 설치되면서부터 다른 LLM이 소유하지 못한 '차량 제어 능력'을 가지게 되었다.

처음엔 간단한 대화만 가능했고, 그다음엔 네비게이션 검색 및 경로 안내를 시작했다.
그리고 이번 여름 업데이트에선 간단하지만 어쩌면 본격적인 '차량 제어'를 하기 시작한다.
*여름 업데이트: 음악 검색·재생, 전화, 에어컨, 글로브박스 열기 등

아직까진 간단한 차량 컨트롤이지만 앞으로 어떻게 될까?

우리가 쓰던 단순 음성인식 그 이상으로 차량 컨트롤을 할 수 있게 될 것이다.
일론도 언급했듯 테슬라 차량은 머지않은 미래에 Grok과 함께 더 완벽한 AI 자율주행 로봇이 될 거다.

단순히 채팅봇이 아니라 실제 카메라와 센서에 연결된 최초의 대규모 LLM이라는 게 핵심이다.
일론이 트위터를 사지 않았다면 xAI도, 이 수준의 차량 통합도 이렇게 빨리 오지 못했을 가능성이 높다.

그래서 나는 일론이 어떤 결정을 내렸을 때 반대하기보다는 일단 믿고 지켜본다.
