@dm_tbork That's one way to look at it. I disagree but there's no wrong way to run/play. But going back to your original question, fudge those rolls my friend. It's the whole point of the DM screen.

@dm_tbork Sure man, chance is a fine scapegoat. I don't really play for chance or dice. I play for storytelling with a group of friends. Some games worship at the alter of the dice gods. Never much been my thing. Sure they're fun to roll. I feel like they're more a tool for the narrative.

When a player is downed and has to make a death save, the DM asks them a question about their past as a "flashback" and if they answer it, they gain advantage on the roll.
