The spike in racist hate crimes across Glasgow is alarming, and current policing is failing to protect our streets. 

As a Scottish Pakistani who grew up in Glasgow, I know this reality firsthand. I passed every interview and physical test to join Police Scotland, only to face institutional racism, Islamophobia, and racial profiling. 

We cannot allow 1980s-style hate to return. Greater Glasgow needs a directly elected Mayor with real power to deliver police reform, enforce strict accountability, and ensure safety for ALL. @NewGenUnitedUK ✊🏼✊🏾✊🏿✊🏻
