Just back from Paris 🇫🇷 after two great days with the @UNDP team and the Blockchain Advisory Group.
One perspective I shared: while token ledgers have driven the first wave of blockchain use cases, the real impact of the technology for public good will come from compute.
The combination of sovereign cloud infrastructure and AI is where things become transformative.
AI is becoming both the most powerful builder and the most capable attacker. At the same time, critical digital infrastructure is often dependent on foreign providers, with growing concerns around control, resilience, and data sovereignty.
Cloud Engines address this directly by enabling tamperproof, always-on, sovereign environments where AI can build and operate software. This is already taking shape with forward-looking governments like Pakistan @digitalauthpk and upcoming offering from the @swisssubnet Cloud Engines.
For governments, NGOs, and enterprises, this is not just an upgrade. It is a new foundation to secure an important lifeline of modern economies: compute.
Appreciation to the @UNDP_AltFinLab for convening and driving these important discussions at the intersection of governments, NGOs, and technology companies.
Looking forward to strengthening the collaboration with the UNDP team as well as contributing to the Advisory Group.
Stay tuned!
@Tcwell64 Many people think Mission70 will make ICP’s price rise drastically because stakers’ yield rewards are being cut by more than half. Guess what? Similar price, smaller rewards. The naive community gets poorer.
This time around, suppressing ICP won't work, because it has found a much bigger mainstream market outside the niceh world of "web3."
E.g. 95%+ of Caffeine users are mainstream. We have a nation state experimenting with cloud engines, and the cloud market is HUGE. 🧵
@Winston8625@stellachenyl@WhiteBabyFac Specializing is not wrong, but less relevant with current world situation. We do not necessarily to be the best at everything we did. Today’s world demands multi-roles skills to survive. Refuse to change the mindset is one reason many stay single & birth rates are declining.
@Winston8625@stellachenyl@WhiteBabyFac Nowadays, the roles of husband and wife in a family can’t be the same as they used to be, where the man was the provider and the woman stayed at home. Today, both partners need to be flexible, take on dual roles, and work together as a team to build a family.
@kangdede78 The classic problem in Indonesia is the lack of ability to do self reflection. Indonesian people always look for similar external challenges happen to other countries as an excuse for why they don’t need to change and stay relax
@canisterog@Tcwell64 Those patent protections will generally last until 2037 to 2041. Beyond that, ICP tech is open for public. Tech giants will patiently wait, meanwhile Dfinity may no longer exist beyond that.
@bighab247 Don't be naive, all policies created by Dfinity are stacking against ICP token holders. If you're serious making money from ICP, be a node provider. ICP token buyers are at the very bottom of the food chain, serving as the last dumping ground to fund Dfinity & node providers.
@Chief_Indo@Bennie_io You make yourself poorer by buying ICP. If you want to make serious money, be a node provider. ICP stakers are at the lowest bottom of the ICP’s food chain, the level for useless peasants whose existence doesn’t matter to ICP. The governance power it holds is an illusion too.
@_Haris_Srg@prabowo Indonesia doesn’t lack smart people or good programs. But the execution always ends up far away from the original goal. The root problems are corruption, lack of legal certainty, no transparency & no meritocracy. Fix those first, after that we can start discussing the programs.
@itsmejeremy77@dfinity The new modulation is implicitly saying, ICP stakers should not sell their maturity, or else...
Meanwhile, node providers keep on selling, no modulation, no penalty
@OWHistory Near is not winning the AI race, but it is winning the AI narrative. The reason near is 2x, purely because of institutional sponsorship, nothing more.
