This made me want to cry. Changing his name was one of the things I felt would help us move on & build a life. He doesn't want to change it because he's a prolific SO, but so he can earn money & build a life. All the things that are shown to reduce reoffending.
At last common sense & safeguarding women & children are put first. Suella Braverman to ban sex offenders from changing name and gender https://t.co/Kxnlpj8oMw

Feeling in a very strange place.
There is a general air of excitement in the build up to Christmas celebrations - I've got a spring in my step but counting down to an entirely different day.
@WriterHBlack 1 hour & 50 minutes to get an appointment. There are so so many that waiting on the line like this wouldn't be an option. Or wouldn't have the flexibility to attend the very limited appointments available
1) In the queue for a Dr appointment (position > 30 having already been cut off after being in the queue for 20 minutes). I can deal with this, I am WFH, no childen needing to be fed & taken to school & a understanding employer,
It must be incredibly difficult for so many
The annual report published by the independent monitoring board at HMP Bristol has concluded Bristol prison is 'not fit for purpose' after finding high levels of violence and self-harm along with overcrowding.

@LockedUpLiving Agreed. The lack of space to be emotionally open & vulnerable is also very hard. I recently spent a week sharing a room with a stranger & had a taste of what it is like to not be able to talk freely on the phone, it was stressful & restrictly our ability to be emotionally intimate
Timely listening to this. I was on the phone to my partner with the "Prison sound scape" in the background
He's done so well to stay sane
"It just gradually wears your soul down" the "lack of nourishing human relationships & healthy touch", "the lack of anything positive to do
In 2003, @meaghan_ybos was raped by a stranger at knifepoint.
Now, she's trying to end sex offender registration across the US.
Her reasoning might surprise you. I talked to her about it here: https://t.co/R6LvoqkmhD
The partner of a sex offender has written to me and asked me to share…
I am one of a growing number of women who find themselves in the unexpected and unwanted position of being a partner of a sex offender and I am here to share my journey and this secret part of my life.
He had a conversation with an adult about sexually abusing a child. Thankfully the adult was a decoy police officer & there was no child. He's now in prison & has a SHPO & is on the SOR for life.
I’ve kept this a secret from most people because of the shame & fear of repercussions. It's been lonely & isolating, impacted my physical & mental health & ended our IVF journey. The day I found out I was transported to a parallel universe that made no sense.
I've come to understand more about these online crimes. I'm disgusted by what he did. I wanted to throw him into the gutter. Banish him as evil. But I couldn't see the monster I was supposed to see.
I made no promises but we've made it this far. He's had private therapy & we understand how the conversation came to be. I hope we can rebuild our life on release & he has the opportunity to positively contribute to society.
I have written a blog to communicate the challenges of this life, such as recent prison visits and sentencing - https://t.co/FjU97PF4Gg

This is me.
@jeremyindika is a victim of CSA & is opening up the convo in very real ways.
I've not met anyone on this journey that doesn't want to stop child abuse. Whether they are victims, offenders, loved ones of victims & offenders https://t.co/iljlmb7BIO
Looking for dog fostering charities?
My partner has to go into a hostel for 6 weeks when he is released. The current carers cannot cover this
The visualisation of us all being together again has provided us hope & strength. My current situation is not suitable to care for them
