I need every retired grandparent in America to show up outside of their senators office while they are on recess right now and demand they take action on gun violence by voting for background checks and red flag laws.
To recap: Police claim they shoot unarmed black children because they "fear for their lives" but police also claim they do not shoot armed gunmen killing children because they "fear for their lives."
This is just unthinkable: SEVEN police officers were inside the school but did not confront the shooter per @CNN. They waited "about an hour" for a Border Patrol tactical team to arrive. A full hour. Seven armed officers to one 18 year-old. The good guys with the guns?
BREAKING: The manager of the San Francisco Giants announces that he will “no longer be taking the field for the national anthem” until Congress implements “stronger gun laws” to “prevent tragedies” like the Texas elementary school massacre. RT TO THANK HIM FOR TAKING A STAND!
When President Clinton banned assault rifles in 1994, mass shootings dropped by 43%. After Republicans let the ban expire in 2004, they increased by 243% — please don’t tell me bans don’t work, because I don’t want to hear it.
If 19 armed police inside PLUS 150 police outside, were afraid to engage ONE 18 year-old with an AR-15, the only solution is to ban AR-15 style rifles, period!
I have watched this several times. “Sir, you are out of line.” We all need to get out of line. The line we’ve been waiting in isn’t moving. The line we’ve been waiting in is stalled. Get out of line, speak up. We’ve waited in line for too long.
Texas Gov. Abbott says the Uvalde school shooter had a "mental health challenge" and the state needed to "do a better job with mental health" — yet in April he slashed $211M from the department that oversees mental health programs. https://t.co/GdqKncigxQ
This motherfucker turned 18 and bought an assault rifle the next day? Do you know how hard it is to adopt a pet? But you can buy an assault rifle easy breezy? #BanAssaultWeaponsNow
