My Tesla Wipers Are Broken

I have a red 2023 Tesla Model Y AWD with wipers that run all the time on days with no rain/snow. Tesla says this is normal, I think otherwise.

The people at @nysdmv were super nice and helped me initiate a regulatory complaint against the @Tesla Henrietta Service center. Gave them lots and lots of material to work with.

Nope. The service advisor tried to get someone else to help but no luck. He said he will keep trying. I roll out of the parking lot and WIPERS GO BRRRRRRR. Fourth appointment scheduled in a few weeks. Don’t they know about NY’s Vehicle Lemon Law?

At the @Tesla service center this morning. Third time in the two months I’ve had this car. The advisor indicated there is likely nothing to be done since the windshield wipers are a “beta feature” - that doesn’t sound very safe does it @nysdmv?

Oh oh there is maybe hope? The service advisor sat down with me and watched a couple of the videos I shared (the techs did not) and he finally seems to agree there is a problem. The one that seems to most convince him is I randomly pulled a dashcam video and posted it. Glad I did

My drive home from dinner this evening. Bright and sunny, not a cloud in the sky. Auto wipers ran the whole way. This is supposed to be normal and in-spec @Tesla?!? No. Something is wrong with this car.

I really believe that there is something wrong with the camera assembly in my car given the behaviors.

This all wouldn’t be so bad if I could turn off the auto wipers. In the past, certain software updates would make them suck balls, but you didn’t have to use them. Somewhere around December, Tesla made them automatic and mandatory when using cruise control and autopilot.

THAT SAID - this vehicle is way, way worse than any other Tesla I've driven. I rented a 2022 Model Y on Turo to compare to this car and in the same weather conditions that car worked normally, mine won't stop going when it's sunny, and wont stop GOING FULL SPEED in light rain.

Two days ago, fresh out the touch free carwash. Bright and sunny. Auto wipers won't stop. Yes I know the inside of the windshield needs to be cleaned - I'm currently begging the Henrietta Service Center to do that inside the cameras but they won't.

Another part of yesterday's drive. Light rain but Navigate on Autopilot is convinced it can't. My Model 3 wouldn't do this unless it was down-pour-ing.

In fact, this is my second Tesla. I had an issue-riddled 2018 Model 3, and still bought another Tesla this year.

Let me start by saying that I love my Model Y. It's fun to drive, fits my family's needs, and saves me from going to the gas station.
