she’s correct. the thing is, people don’t realize the ways in which they can be sexist or misogynistic, so they don’t know how to stop doing it, being it, or perpetuating it.

holding women to a higher standard than men, because they think women are “better” than men or they can “expect more from” women, accepting that men being terrible to women is just their default meanwhile women being caring etc. is their default, always results in women being harshly punished for things men aren’t even slapped on the wrist for.
