Dear @ChipotleTweets I went to a location to finally get my hands on the brisket…I was told they didn’t have any prepped and to come back tomorrow😒
Disappointing. My stomach is not pleased 😔
Silver lining: I am grateful to be that Protector and Projector for MY daughter as she navigates this life. That’s my baby and I LOVEEEEEEE me some her 🥹 #Protector#Beyonce#CowboyCarter
When I listen to that song, I weep… every single time… I had a mother that was ALL OF THAT and MORE for me growing up (even through adulthood). I miss TF outta that woman even more today because I am in NEED of her protection and light that only she can provide #RIH mommy 😘
Listening to @crissles talking about her mother in regards to Beyoncé’s “Protector” has me DEEP in my feels. I’m so sorry that you never had that protector/projector to be a shining light for you 💔
It’s interesting seeing people, now old enough to comment on society, who weren’t there in the beginning and before times. Uber/AirBnB was not always expensive. Amazon was not the only place to buy things. Ticketmaster was not The Hunger Games.
@ieshia92@ciara She doesn’t have to clear it if she believes it will diminish the integrity of the original song. Artists can do whatever’s necessary to protect their image. Hell, Beyoncé requested that Meg rewrite (i.e. make less raunchy) some lyrics to “Savage (Remix)” before she hopped on 🤷🏽♀️
@fossylife @itsAY_Boogie @MandyConnell@DrBrittaniJ This statistic is nearly the same across racial and ethnic identities, just as we are more likely to be harmed by someone we know versus not. The law of proximity. Do you have another argument against police brutality (in general and against minorities, specifically) to lean on?
In other words, the psychological is physical.
Racism is not just killing Black people’s life opportunities and limiting our societal advancement.
It is doing more than just concentrating us into areas of extreme resource deprivation and asking us to fight each other for scraps of food, housing and jobs.
Racism is directly killing our bodies.
Too many people don’t understand this.
That’s because, in that moment, a cascade of stress hormones automatically rushed through my body.
Well guess what. The body is not designed to be exposed to these “flight or fights hormones over a long term.
Chronic exposure to psychological stress—like the kind that comes from being Black in America—-promotes the formation of artery-clogging deposits (increasing our risk of heart attacks and strokes).
It causes insulin resistance, which contributes to diabetes, dementia and obesity.
It causes brain changes that can contribute to anxiety, depression, and fuel addiction.
Intent doesn’t matter.
