Full offense, but if you don't have your age in your profile and don't want to tell it I'm not going to cosplay with you or hang out at a con?
I'm 27 years old and don't want to be held liable if I'm surrounded by a bunch of drunken toddlers??
It’s okay if a cosplay doesn’t look right
It’s okay if you don’t get it done on time
It’s okay if you don’t have a cosplay for each day of the con
It’s okay to change things so you are more comfortable
It’s okay to have fun
Just because a cosplayer “would look perfect” as a character doesn’t mean they have to cosplay them.
Just because a cosplayer “looks nothing like” a character doesn’t mean they can’t or shouldn’t cosplay them.
Cosplay is not a lookalike contest.
You don't have to spend a lot of money to be a cosplayer. You don't have to have every detail right. You don't need to have the same body type or skin tone to cosplay a character you love. You don't need a lacefront wig or contacts. If you have fun dressing up you're a cosplayer.
Hey! Don't critique a cosplayer's accuracy unless they ask.
All of us cosplayers understand this rule and we do not do that with each other. Neither should you, non-cosplayer. We all know this is rude. Ask any of us. Most of the time they CHOSE to be inaccurate. They know.
