Yes, if you're referring to the 20c movement, we definitely harbor very similar sentiments though specific affinities & aesthetic conclusions translated to a contemporary context. Today we can see with much greater hindsight that the future is non-negotiable, there really isn't any alternative but futurism; yet cowards find a way. Their energy remains an inspiration, and they similarly existed in antagonism with the institutional art world. The landscape of the international western art world is very different from the modernist era though, most "artists" are MFA's enslaved in the institutional complex, and the "art scene" culture industry that exists in orbit of it is deeply engineered by social and capital flows—there is very little agency or revolutionary spirit amongst insider artists, who largely live under the yoke of career-fear; and art's co-option and reconstitution into an emptied financial vehicle has routed allure for any incoming generation; hence, our stirring up a new movement of outsider artists online. But still the difficulty remains because the great barrier of this age is last man despondency: agency and courage are the rarest assets in a world that's lost its faith. It's less an issue of pushback than it is of a lack of will towards doing anything at all; it's not even conformist, it's escapist.
