On my way to a funeral in Ndunyu Njeru, near Dive Inn Hotel, a group of young men on motorbikes blocked my car. They asked whether I am Wantam or Tutam?

Right ahead of me, another car was forced to turn back after being harassed by these same men.

They demanded money I asked money for what? “mbeca cia mzinga” before letting me pass. I refused they said if I don’t give out money I won’t pass.

I stayed calm, switched off my engine, and waited. After 10 minutes, when they saw I was not giving in, they unblocked the road.

However, just 3 minutes away from the venue, both of my back tires went flat. After dropping off my relatives, I went straight to the nearest petrol station, where mechanics confirmed that each tire had been stabbed twice, leaving four punctures in total.

It is very sad that while going to stand with a family in grief, I was met with threats, extortion, and deliberate damage to my car.

Our young people must realize that not everything revolves around politics, nor should political differences be used as an excuse for harassment and extortion. Young people need real opportunities, not criminal acts on the road. Local police and leaders must take action to stop this behavior. No one should feel unsafe or be forced to pay illegal money on public roads.

We must stand together and say NO to this bad behavior before it gets out of hand‼️

Today, I met such an impressive dude. His story reads like a movie. Lost his job 2 years ago at 38, started selling some merchandise. Came up with a plan, to make 1M a year, divided it across 365 days, came to about 3K a day in savings, and with that went to war.

Dude says he'd worked over 15 years without ever touching a million. Told me, "Soon as I see the sun, I know I will be making some money. Even if just 1K."

Says by the time he got to the middle of the year and saw over 500K in his account, he increased the savings portions. Ended up with about 1.2M. Said, "Personally, I do not believe in there ever being too late for a man. Some people are willing to learn and relearn, and others aren't, and that's the difference".

He's going to be a very rich man.

After SACCOs, Banks And M-Pesa Are Next As Kenyans Become Guarantors For A Debt Crisis They Never Ate

Kenyans must stop asking why Kenya has not defaulted and start asking who is being prepared to carry the default when the music finally stops.

Ghana was here.

Sri Lanka was here.

Zambia was here.

Argentina was here.

Lebanon was here.

The script is always the same, because a broke government borrows until lenders get tired, taxes until citizens are dry, leans on banks until credit disappears, pushes pain into pensions and domestic savings, then tells the public that sacrifice is needed to save the country.

That is why the SACCO story should scare Kenyans more than they currently seem scared, because SACCO savings are not government money, they are the private sweat of teachers, police officers, nurses, farmers, matatu people, boda riders, mama mbogas, small traders and workers who ran there after banks abandoned them.

In every default story, the government does not stand alone at the edge of the cliff, because it drags citizens there as guarantors through inflation, taxes, currency pain, bank losses, pension restructuring, frozen credit and forced patriotic nonsense dressed up as national recovery.

Banks already formed a comfortable debt circle with government, where lending to Treasury became safer and sweeter than lending to SMEs, which slowly choked biashara, starved the real economy and turned ordinary Kenyans into beggars inside their own banking system.

Now the same government that fed banks with public debt is walking into SACCOs, looking at the last pool of money ordinary Kenyans still controlled after taxes, deductions, mobile money charges, fuel prices, school fees and rent had already eaten their pockets.

The anus cannot be stitched to stop diarrhoea.

A debt crisis cannot be solved by raiding SACCOs, squeezing banks, eyeing M-Pesa, selling public assets and pretending that every desperate grab is an infrastructure plan.

Ghana called it domestic debt exchange.

Sri Lanka called it restructuring.

Argentina called it emergency controls.

Lebanon left people staring at bank balances they could not freely touch.

Kenya will give it a cleaner name, maybe national development, domestic resource mobilisation, infrastructure financing or patriotic investment, but the meaning will be the same.

The citizens are being prepared as guarantors for debts they never ate.

Kenyans are not angry enough, because if they understood where this road ends, they would know SACCOs are not the final target, they are the warning shot before banks, M-Pesa and every private pool of money still breathing outside Treasury’s hands.

The money is finished.

@bonneybennerd @FrankoRover Even they themselves were not understanding how to go about the issue. Other than use the manual non etims csv. Did that and here we are not having filed cause system was down and uploading of those documents plus proof of payments was impossible.

About a week ago, Shirlyne went out partying with her boyfriend. They were happy and had no fights or arguments, it was a normal night.

By morning, she was brutally beaten to death.
According to the post-mortem report, her boyfriend broke both her arms as she tried to defend herself, pulled out her hair from the scalp, broke all her ribs, and left her face unrecognizable.

After killing her, he dragged her naked body outside, then went back inside, brought a blanket, and slept next to her body.
