The clock is now ticking in Brussels. The European Parliament's resolution of 8 October names the cases it calls failures of control, youth group FEMYSO, the European Network Against Racism and the Al Sharq Forum among them, all funded with EU money in youth, anti discrimination, education and research programmes despite serious questions about their links to Brotherhood networks, and it demands the Commission explain how much each received and who signed off.
Resolutions are not binding, but the Commission has three months to reply. Ninety days to explain the receipts. We will be counting.
BTW, the Muslim Brotherhood is banned in the UAE.
I wrote about why America cannot afford to let excessive regulation slow AI innovation while China races ahead. The Wright brothers offer a lesson worth remembering.
Elon Musk tiene tiempo para dirigir empresas de 4 mil millones de dólares, responder a desconocidos en Twitter y ser padre de 14 hijos...
Pero esa chica que estás viendo tarda 16 horas en responder porque está ocupada...
sigue adelante, hermano
The best insight on “pride” I’ve read for a long time.
And the significance of “light, lightness and laughter.”
Sent by my friend “Presterton” (a modern day Chesterton, whose quote is at the top).
The screens we spend all day staring at are essentially & physically the same as the scrying mirrors ancient occultists used to communicate with demonic entities
But that isn't significant or anything, right?
if you’re low on strength, commune with God to restore you. ask for it explicitly. the purer and more direct your appeal, the more vigorous and instant the impact. you have the ultimate trump card at your disposal but you’re too busy believing that you must “only depend on yourself”. this, my brother, is the error of modernity: individualism. the terribly toxic idea that man is his own saviour. I personally stopped depending on myself. my ego is too fragile and emotions too volatile and wisdom too lacking. I depend only on God. and only through His grace do I pass through the bottlenecks and tough times. ask for help. you’ll receive it.
Did you know you say a prayer every time you say "goodbye"?
The word "Goodbye" is a contraction of the phrase used in the late 16th century: "God be with ye."
Over time, it was shortened to "God b'w'y" and finally "Goodbye."
You are literally blessing someone every time you say it.
I recommend the trope of 20yo AI enthusiasts who think AI is the future of work and will replace human labor, to spend a couple of years in a traditional Fortune 500 company.
Feel in person what it’s like to receive an invitation to a meeting about an email about a ticket about a spreadsheet about a SELECT * query.
Watch 20 people debate for a month a 10 digit number that is off by one decimal.
See how access to any minor piece of data requires a workflow of permissions from five people.
Observe how any deployment requires planning at least two quarters in advance.
Pay attention to how nobody, even at the highest levels, cares one bit about productivity, let alone innovation, because the only thing they care about is their paycheck.
Then tell me AI is going to replace all human labor.
