@IPRTropicUpdate@sweetdaisyz@bowieonfilm I don’t understand your point—-coercion is legally recognized as sexual assault. It is a punishable offense under the law.
@IPRTropicUpdate@sweetdaisyz@bowieonfilm People view pedophiles as the creepy man in the van, when statistically over 90% are related or know the child. Do you think it’s wrong to change how we view the common pedophile? Changing how we perceive/define these offenders help protect future victims.
@IPRTropicUpdate@sweetdaisyz@bowieonfilm Changing definitions based on new information and societal standards is a good thing. Coercion has always been rape, and due to women fighting for rights it is now seen as such—but the old definitions had to change because the previous ones were archaic.
@IPRTropicUpdate@sweetdaisyz@bowieonfilm A lot of women were assaulted back then, but due to a lack of women’s rights it was ignored with the token phrase “boys will be boys”. It was assault then, and it is now. We need to update how we view these things as we evolve as a society.
@IPRTropicUpdate@sweetdaisyz@bowieonfilm As you did not CONSENT for your money to be used that way. It would be a CRIME, called fraud. Same way the previous scenario you listed is called rape.
@IPRTropicUpdate@sweetdaisyz@bowieonfilm Also, lying for the purpose of sex is a form of assault—they consented to sex with a single man, not a married man. Think of scams, if you consent for your money to be donated to charity and it instead is spent by the owner for personal use, you would feel robbed. 1/2
@IPRTropicUpdate@sweetdaisyz@bowieonfilm That doesn’t change it is, and is against the law. Marital rape wasn’t made illegal until relatively recently—no matter how brutal. We base our laws off of victims and how we want our society to function. rape and coercion is not fit for a healthy society 2/2
@IPRTropicUpdate@sweetdaisyz@bowieonfilm Wow…you’re just a very uneducated person. Look up false accusation statistics, it’s extremely rare—versus the well founded statistics that 1 in 4 women have been assaulted in some point in their lives. Women don’t lie about assault—if you don’t believe coercion is assault, 1/2
@IPRTropicUpdate@sweetdaisyz@bowieonfilm I hope this is rage bait. Rape is not solely being dragged in an alley, screaming no. It can be coercion, which is the most common form of rape because people don’t understand pressuring someone into having sex is rape, even if they’re not screaming no.
